EDUCATION PRIORITIES
TEACHER PAY

By voting to kill the school choice bill, Rep. DeWayne Burns also voted against $4,000 teacher pay raises and $121 million in additional funding for local public schools.

ACCESS

Access to a quality education should be available to all Texas children, not just a select few who can afford it, like Rep. DeWayne Burns. But by voting against school choice, Burns blocked access to good schools for Texas students.

FUND CHILDREN

School choice empowers parents to choose the best education option for their children that best meets their needs. But DeWayne Burns opposes school choice and would rather fund underperforming public schools than fund kids.

Backed By Liberal Groups Trying To Turn Texas Blue

Did you know that DeWayne Burns was supported by liberal unions? These unions are the same liberal organizations that are working with George Soros to turn Texas into a blue state.

Higher Property Taxes

Property taxes are skyrocketing in Texas, yet DeWayne Burns voted to support property tax increases in the state.

Reduced Criminal Sentences

DeWayne Burns makes our communities less safe. He even voted with liberals to reduce criminal sentences, creating a revolving door at the courthouse where criminals are let in and let out without real punishment.

Weakening Border Security

DeWayne Burns voted to allow soft-on-the-border members on Texas’s Border Security Advisory Council.

Blocked School Choice for Parents

DeWayne Burns voted against Gov. Abbott’s plan to give Texas parents the right to select schools, whether public or private, for their children, even though over 88.7% of Republican voters in our district support school choice.
